our Mission

In partnership with social partners and sister organization, AKMOS endeavors to increase the contribution of its members and improve the quality thereof as well as strengthen their social and economic position. In this regard, AKMOS will anticipate the developments in the economy both on a national and global level, pursue the promotion of interests in the broadest sense of the world, render collective and individual service to its members and organize and encourage contacts with colleagues. For this purpose, the principle of social responsibility and socially responsible entrepreneurship will serve as a guideline for AKMOS and its members.

Hariepersad Soekhlal

Chairman

In 2020 Harie was elected as chairman of AKMOS, Association of Small and Medium Enterprices in Suriname. Under his leadership AKMOS is taking in part in many commissions & working groups giving advises on various topics to the government and other private sector groups. More importantly in the commission of Local Content, which is now prominent topic. His vision for AKMOS is that the voices of Small & Medium sized companies is heard to make a more succesful and productive SME sector Since November 2021 he is also substitute member of the Socio Economic Council from Suriname the SER.

Viandhar Oedjaghir

Secretary

Viandhar Oedjaghir has over 15 years of experience in the logistics sector. As a secretary at the AKMOS I am responsible for the minutes during a meeting, but often also the preparation and follow-up of the actions, the member administration and the correspondence. Vijay Jankipersad

Vice President

Mr. Jankipersad is a Bio Medical Engineer, International certified trainer in the field of refrigeration technology. He has 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur, & teacher. In daily life Director of COOL EXPERT NV. vijay.jankipersad@akmos-suriname.com

Robertino Tjon Hing

Treasurer

Robertino Tjon Hing has 25 years of work experience in his industry. As treasurer, he is responsible for the financial management of Akmos. robertino.tjonhing@akmos-suriname.com

Balgobind Satish

Secretary

Mr. Balgobind is the Director of SuriGraphics N.V. He has 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur. As a member of the Board of AKMOS, he is jointly responsible for promotion and networking.

Vanessa Nooitmeer

2nd Secretary

Mrs. Nooitmeer has 12 years of experience in the legal field, 10 of which as a lawyer. Mrs. Nooitmeer leads her own law firm and works in the field civil and criminal practice. Anwar Alibux

Commissioner

Mr. Alibux is a Chemical Technologist and Environmental Scientist. He has 12 years of experience as an entrepreneur, teacher and scientist. As a Supervisory Board member at AKMOS, he is jointly responsible for internal control and member registration. anwar.alibux@akmos-suriname.com

Henny Boedjawan

Commissioner

Mr. Boedjawan is a serial entrepreneur and has been supporting the development of the private sector in Suriname for decades. Mr. Boedjawan is committed to sustainable industrial development and entrepreneurship.
